A DOZEN FURIES Team With Virgin Megastore To Put On Show For Hometown Fans
September 6, 2005A DOZEN FURIES, who won a highly coveted tour spot on Ozzfest 2005 after beating out North Carolina's CYNDER (now CYN) in MTV's "Battle for Ozzfest" finale, will prepare for their Sanctuary/Divine Recordings debut, "A Concept From Fire", on September 13 by playing a show in their hometown of Dallas. Fans who purchase the CD at Virgin Megastore in Dallas will get a free ticket to see A DOZEN FURIES at the Curtain Club in Deep Ellum on Tuesday, September 13.
A DOZEN FURIES recently tapped director Darren Doane (EVERY TIME I DIE, DARKEST HOUR) to film the video for their track "The Cycle" in the Californian desert. "A Concept from Fire" was mixed by Josh Wilbur (ATREYU, STILL REMAINS, FUEL, CHEVELLE) and is said to be "sounding amazing," according to a posting on the group's official web site. Two tracks from the CD — "Awake and Lifeless" and "Nightmare of a Martyr" — can currently be heard at PureVolume.com.
Formed in late 2003, A DOZEN FURIES had previously released a self-produced EP ("Rip These Stars Down") and have toured extensively. The group's guitarist Marc Serrano, who was chosen to represent A DOZEN FURIES in the "Battle for Ozzfest" competition, had performed at Ozzfest 2003 as part of the now-defunct former Maverick recording artists UNLOCO.
